Barrettes on Dog Bows

We are getting more and more requests for dog bows with a barrette. This option may cost a little more but it is well worth it!

When you use a bow with a barrette, you put the rubber band in your dogs hair and slip the barrette between the head and the band. Then when it comes time to remove them, you take the dog bows on the barrette off and snip the rubber band

Wow, what a season. As Christmas draws near, so does the rush for the last minute gift. Here at Katy Bows we can ship dog bows until Wednesday to get them in time. After that you will have to special ship them, but it can be done.

Wow, I can't believe that Christmas is almost here!! My Granddaughter came to visit me recently. Wen she saw all of the Dog Bows that I have ready for Christmas, she said Nana, I need more bows! (She wears them as well.) She proceeded to tell me all of the ribbons that she want me to make her bows in.

Why so many ribbons

As I was shopping for yet more ribbons, I pondered the question, why so many different ribbons for our dog bows?

The answer is something that comes to me with every dog bow order we receive. People are different. Dogs are different sizes. It is amazing, at first my husband and I sit around and try to imagine who a person is based on what dog bows they order.

So, I continue to add to our variety of ribbons to create an awesome variety of Dog Bows.

Cleaning Dog Bows

I have been asked by a couple of people, Can you wash your dog bows? Since Katy is a teapot Yorkie a hefty 8.5 lbs, she does a good job playing with the other big dogs at the dog park. This means she gets rolled, drooled on and even sometimes peed on.

The bows get very dirty. Most parts of our dog bows are sewn on. The only part that is glued is the jewel. we add this last to protect the crystal from all of the other chemicals.

You can run soapy water over the bow and get the dirt off. I have even accidentally washed one in the washing machine.

If it looses stiffness, you can respray it with a fabric stiffener. Just insert some round dowels in the loops, spray and allow to dry.

If the jewel of the dog bow comes loose, simply re-glue it.

Why Katy Bows

I have been asked, why did I start Katy Bows, the place to get casual-wear dog bows. I used to spend a lot of money buying dog bows for Katy. All it took was one trip to the dog park and I had to throw the bow away.

Katy is a very loving, hard playing Yorkie. She would play at the park with Fat Albert (he is a Shihtzu). He would always try to take her dog bows off!

Katy would roll in the dirt, get drooled on etc. One time and the bow needed to be thrown away.

So, I came up with a better way to make them. All of our dog bows are heat cut. This helps prevent the ends from fraying. All of are dog bows are stiffened to help keep their shape. All of our dog bows come with a crystal jewel.

We are proud to say that we now have over 200 different dog bows to choose from. All of our orders usually ship in 24-48 hours!
